Mass of Remembrance: Remembering Those We’ve Lost

This past year and a half has been very challenging due to the restrictions and isolation caused by the pandemic. Celebrating the lives of loved ones who passed away was not possible as people were prevented from gathering in groups and funerals and graveside blessings were limited.

As we begin to move forward and are able to return to church, we want to acknowledge and remember in a special way the family members and loved ones of parishioners who passed away during the pandemic.

St. Louise is creating a photo wall of parishioners, friends and family members who passed from the start of the pandemic in March 2020 to the present time. Loved ones do not need to have died from COVID-19 to be recognized. The goal is to remember not only those lost to the pandemic, but to acknowledge those who may not have been able to celebrate the life of a loved one due to the restrictions that were in place.

A digital slide show and a banner will be hung from the exterior wall of the church to honor their memory. The banner and slideshow will be unveiled at a special Mass of Remembrance. The date of the Mass of Remembrance will be scheduled at a future date.

Photo submissions have now closed. Thank you to everyone who sent in an image.
