MIDDLE SCHOOL MINISTRY (Grades 6th through 8th)

The Junior High Program gathers in the Hall at 6:00 pm. for snacks, special projects and theme presentations. This program is designed to promote Christian Fellowship, increase doctrinal knowledge and deepen the student’s personal relationship with God, while offering a safe and caring environment.  Our aim and goal is to help families help their young people learn to live as followers of Christ. Classes meet on Monday evenings from:  6:00 - 7:30pm

Sacrament Preparation / Eucharist & Reconciliation

Volunteer teachers [Catechists] prepare students enrolled in Religious Education for grades 1st and 2nd for the sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist and support their ongoing religious education. Children in grades 3rd-8th, attend one year of Religious Education classes with their grade level, and a second year of special sacrament classes with preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist as its focus.

Sacrament Preparation / Baptism

Children who are not baptized and are at least 7 years of age register for regular Religious Education Classes to receive religious instruction and be with their peers.  During this initiation process godparents are invited to walk the faith journey with them. It is a 2 year journey leading to reception of the Sacrament of Baptism with the children invited to come back to Religious Education classes to continue their faith development as they grow in understanding of what it means to be catholic and have a relationship with Jesus Christ. For specific information regarding sacrament preparation, contact the Faith Formation Office at [626] 332-5822.
