Banner Information
Confirmation Banner Design Instructions
1.
1. Each
Candidate is to create a banner, with his or her Sponsor, which must display the
Candidate’s Confirmation name (SAINT’S NAME)
and
appropriate Christian symbols of the Candidate’s choice.
2.
With your sponsor, you
will create your banner. You will fabricate your banner and decide on colors,
symbols etc. Fabrication is to be
done by you and your sponsor at home to turned in by the due date list below.
3. Use colored felt 15 inches wide by 30 inches long for the body of the banner. (Do not use any material other than felt for the body of your banner. DO NOT USE BLACK COLOR ONLY, USE MULTI-COLORS) The name and symbols can be made of felt, pellon, or similar material, and should be glued onto the banner with white glue or hot glue.
4.
When constructing your
banner, leave the top 4 inches blank, so you will be able to attach your
banner around a WIRE HANGER.
5.
The colors you choose for
the background, name and symbols should complement your overall design, and be
used in good artistic taste. Your banner will be returned to you if
Non-Christian symbols are used or if there are any other problems.
6.
Your finished banner will be
displayed in the Church for your Confirmation liturgy. As indicated earlier,
Father Larry Dowdel has agreed to allow
us to hang your banners on Holy Friday after the “Live Stations of the
Cross”. The banners will hang in our church for the Easter Liturgies
and
remain there until Pentecost Sunday at which time you are asked to come and
pick up your banner after the 5 p.m. mass
7.
Please put a piece of blue tap on the back of your banner to write your name. (Banners
are Due on the 1st Sunday of the Month of February)
