Stewardship

Overview

The US Bishops’ pastoral letter on stewardship teaches that good stewards receive God’s gifts gratefully, cultivate them responsibly, share them with others in justice and love, and return them with increase to the Lord.  The first step is always to be grateful to God for all His blessings.  St Louise de Marillac says the same: "When we meet with things very pleasing, before yielding to the joy they elicit, let us raise our hearts to God and thank his loving mercy which sends us the consolation."

There are many ways to be a good steward here at St. Louise – ways to share your time and talents and your monetary blessings (your “treasure”) – both now and in ways that will benefit the parish in the long term. For more information about the many ways you can participate in Parish life, contact the Parish Center at 626-915-7873.

Volunteers

Whether as a Eucharistic Minister at Mass or a cheerful provider of hot dogs to hungry carnival-goers, St. Louise has a ministry or volunteer opportunity to match your talents and available time.  And each gift of time and service is a gift to the parish community.  Please see the bulletin or call the parish office for information about current or upcoming events that might provide a perfect match between your gifts and the needs of the parish.  And thank you for your willingness to serve!

Giving and Stewardship

Our parishioners give generously to support the parish, and the parish, in turn, must be a good steward of all those financial gifts, receiving them gratefully and using them wisely.  To help us keep track of donations and to make sure that those who give are appropriately thanked, registered parishioners receive a packet of envelopes each month to use for their offertory gifts and various special collections.  Each parishioner receives an end-of –the-year statement of his or her giving and the parish publishes a financial annual report in October of each year.

Electronic Giving

Some parishioners have found it convenient to give electronically.  This option costs the donor nothing but a few minutes of time to get it set up.  The benefits are many:

It’s convenient --you may contribute directly from your checking or savings account or with Visa or MasterCard
It eliminates the need to write checks and keep track of the envelopes
Contribution amounts or schedules may be changed at any time
It’s secure – and free!

The parish benefits, too...  Electronic giving:

saves administrative time, processing donations
helps with more accurate parish budget forecasting, and
promotes the parish mission, both through the additional financial resources and the availability of staff time released for other projects

If you would like to use this time-saving way of giving, please either stop by the Parish Center (or click the link below) for the form to fill out and return to the Parish Center for processing.  (If you are choosing to have the funds sent directly from your bank, please also attach the appropriate voided check or deposit slip.  Thanks!)
