Our young disciples preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation journey through a two-year process as they dive deeply into learning more about their faith and step into topics ranging from biblical scholarship, and sacramental theology, to evangelization techniques.
This program will operate as a hybrid ministry and will empower teens to interact with their families while building a strong foundation of faith and encouraging the development of their leadership and critical thinking skills. Monthly, the young disciples and their families will attend workshops catechizing the entire family, and weekly they will have the opportunity to participate in gospel reflections with their peers via zoom. They will also have the opportunity to participate in faith-based activities and discussions that will help them prepare for the sacrament of Confirmation.
This format will encourage families to develop the domestic church and empower parents as the primary catechists. Catechist Mentors will work with each family and their young disciples. Confirmation preparation can begin any time while the young disciple is in high school. Please contact the Faith Formation Office at 626-332-5822 for additional details about the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Middle School Ministry – In Real Life
Our Middle School program provides catechesis that will enrich the young disciples' understanding of our Catholic faith and begin to promote the development of leadership qualities. Titled “In Real Life,” this ministry explores tough questions facing middle school students today. Connecting their challenges to the faith, this program empowers young people to interact with their peers while building a strong foundation of faith.
They will have the opportunity to participate in faith-based activities that will help them prepare for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist or allow them to continue to grow in faith once they have received the sacraments. Families will participate in activities that are directed to develop the domestic church and empower parents as the primary catechists. The In Real Life Ministry serves the disciples in grades 6-8.
High School Bible Study – Ignite
The Ignite Bible Study allows high schoolers of any age to confidently jump into the bible. Breaking into the Word of God with a group of peers allows us all to be confident about the questions we have, and open to hearing from God through our peers.
Ignite is a four-part series that acts as an introduction to Biblical study, offering the opportunity for anyone at any stage in their faith walk to participate. Written by FOCUS, this bible study is used around high school and college campuses across the united states.
